Friday 29th March 2019
On the 29 March, Heart Valve Voice will help to host the UK’s first Valvular Heart Disease - Patient Engagement Day to be held at Edgbaston Park Hotel, University of Birmingham. The patient day is being held in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the British Society of Echocardiography, the British Heart Foundation and the British Heart Valve Society.
Patient Day
Over 100 patients have registered to attend and will be met with a full agenda based around heart valve disease including information on the latest research and the newest advancements in treatment. Talks will be given by a number of clinicians who specialise in valve disease care and treatment as well as by representatives from the featured partner organisations, including Heart Valve Voice’s Chief Executive, Wil Woan.
“This day will be a great opportunity for patients to come together to learn more about what is happening in the world of heart valve disease care and treatment,” said Wil. “In addition, patients will be able to speak to clinicians and share their experiences with one another which is an effective way that patients can feel empowered and informed.”
Wil will be joined by some of our patient ambassadors who will be on hand to speak to their fellow patients and to provide information on some of the events that Heart Valve Voice will be working on this year. They will be happy to speak to anyone who is interested in getting more involved in the campaign to raise awareness of heart valve disease by volunteering to work with us on any of our upcoming events or projects.
Patients wishing to find out more about this event or would like to come along as a Heart Valve Voice volunteer please get in touch with us: info@heartvalvevoice.com or 07399 606386.
