South Coast Summit

The South Coast Summit will be a meeting involving clinicians, heart valve experts, patients and political figures brought together for a discussion that will provide a more detailed picture of the challenges and blockages to services that heart valve disease patients experience in the UK.

The summit will ultimately work to establish examples of best practise as well as successful and innovative patient pathways for the diagnosis, treatment and management of heart valve disease.

“It’s really important to have a thorough understanding of what the heart valve patient is dealing with in the UK, particularly in areas like the South Coast where the population has a higher-than-average age range", said Dr Benoy Shah, Consultant Cardiologist at Southampton General Hospital. “I think it’s very important that HVV is organising this event to identify best practices in the area. We are very happy to be hosting the meeting and working in partnership with other clinicians, healthcare professionals and patients to improve further the diagnosis and treatment of valvular heart disease.”
