The team from Heart Valve Voice including CEO Wil Woan, Trustee Pat Khan, NHS Patient and Public Advisor Neil Betteridge and Patient ambassadors Christine and Katharine Greenlands, Brenda Walker and Sandra Woodcock travelled to Cambridge to discuss an upcoming study to develop an new innovative stethoscope.
Heart Valve Voice and Intelligent Stethoscope Study
The Intelligent Stethoscope is being developed by Cambridge University in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Papworth CTU and will use an artificial intelligence system to detect heart murmurs and their associated pathology and severity. The artificial intelligence system used in the Intelligent Stethoscope will learn from previous examples of heart sounds allowing for a much more accurate reading to help detect heart valve disease.
