Welcome to our newly appointed Chairman
Heart Valve Voice, the UK charity for raising awareness of heart valve disease, has appointed a new Chair of Trustees.
Chris Young, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at St Thomas’ Hospital, has been appointed as Chair of Trustees for Heart Valve Voice. He takes over from Professor Ben Bridgwater who had been Heart Valve Voice Chairman for the past two years.
The charity is addressing the under-diagnosis and under-treatment of heart valve disease in the UK. Through raising awareness and improving understanding of the disease they hope to see real changes made to the process that patients go through.
Speaking about his appointment Chris said:
“I am very pleased to be joining Heart Valve Voice at such an exciting point in its development. I am looking forward to working with the stakeholders, Trustees and CEO to help achieve the ambitious plans for the future.”
Wil Woan, CEO of Heart Valve Voice said: “I am delighted that Chris has been confirmed as a Chair of the Trustees. He is highly committed to our mission and values. His broad experience, leadership skills and strategic thinking are great assets to our charity.”
