Once the severity of your valve disease has been assessed, if urgent treatment is not clinically necessary you will be surveilled. This mean you will have regular echos, between every 6-12 months.
This period can cause great anxiety. Your symptoms may be changing, and you know your valve disease could be deteriorating. Support groups and family are a great source of strength during this period.
You can also use Heart Valve Voice’s Symptom Tracker app to monitor your symptoms. It is clinically approved, and gives your a journal of your symptom progression.
The Patient’s Association have a host of information and resources for people managing long term health conditions including questions to ask your GP and practical resources that can help you along the way. Click here for more information.
