Virtual Appointment Guide
Today Heart Valve Voice launch our Virtual Appointment Guide for valve disease patients. The guide was created in response to the reduction of in-person services due to COVID-19, and aims to foster the same comfort and confidence patients feel when they meet their clinician.
The guide is broken into three parts
- Preparation
- Taking the call
- Results and next steps
In making the guide, we consulted with patients and clinicians to find out how the new appointment style was running, what problems they had encountered and what had worked well. Our valve disease community were involved in every stage of the process, and we believe that input has helped craft a guide that is patient friendly and clinician friendly.
By using this guide, we can ensure that patients and their clinical team are getting the most out of this new appointment style. We ask all patients to download and print out a copy of it, and recommend all clinicians advise their patients to do the same.
“We’re delighted to release the Virtual Appointment Guide for valve disease patients. Good planning and preparation are going to be central to this new appointment style, and we want to make sure that all patients get the most out of this new style of serve. We’ve worked with patients and clinicians to find out what best practice looks like, and I believe this guide will meet everyones needs and ensure patients are comfortable and confident in their care plan,” said Wil Woan, Heart Valve Voice CEO.
