Heart Valve Voice Launch SLOW Campaign
Today, Heart Valve Voice launch our SLOW symptoms awareness campaign. After consulting with patients and clinicians, we are launching a campaign that aims to raise awareness of the red-flag symptoms of heart valve disease and what to do if people experience them.
SLOW stands for:
- Shortness of breath
- Lightheadedness on exertion
- Older than your years
- Weary
From extensive discussions with patients, we identified these as the most common symptoms they felt prior to their heart valve disease diagnosis. We also found that these were the ones their friends and families recognised in them. This campaign will aim to educate millions of over 65s on the symptoms of heart valve disease and what to do if anyone identifies them in themselves or else.
Heart Valve Voice Executive Director, Wil Woan, said, “Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the making of this campaign. All the patients who reviewed it have helped us deliver a campaign that is patient-led and highlights symptoms that I’m sure will resonate with many people. I’ve no doubt it will add to our already extensive reach and continue on our goal to educate the public on the symptoms of heart valve disease.”
Please watch and share the video, and contact info@heartvalvevoice.com if you’re health professional who would like a copy of the video to promote through your channels.
