Heart Valve Voice Announce Membership of World Heart Federation
Heart Valve Voice is delighted to announce that we have become a member of the World Heart Federation.
We were welcomed as Members at the World Heart Summit in Geneva last month. Heart Valve Voice Executive Director, Wil Woan, met with the President of the World Heart Federation, Professor Fausto J. Pinto, and other affiliated groups to discuss how we can work together to improve awareness of heart valve disease worldwide.
As members, Heart Valve Voice will become part of this global community and be given access to World Heart Federations’ extensive network of international stakeholders. We will also be given the opportunity to provide strategic input into local, national and global health development agendas at the World Health Organisation, Ministries of Health and United Nations – with the support of the World Heart Federation.
Heart Valve Voice would like to thank Professor Fausto J. Pinto for welcoming us to the World Heart Federation, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.
Heart Valve Voice Executive Director, Wil Woan, said, “ Membership of the World Heart Federation has long been a strategic goal for the team at Heart Valve Voice, so I’m delighted to make it official. It was fantastic to meet with other Members in Geneva to share our work at Heart Valve Voice. Along with our continued work on the Global Heart Hub, Heart Valve Voice continue to enhance our global reputation. Our learnings on this international stage will enhance our capacity to improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of heart valve disease in the UK.”
World Heart Federation wrote “We and our members believe in a world where heart health for everyone is a fundamental human right and a crucial element of global health justice.
Since its establishment in 1978, WHF has been serving as the principal representative body for the cardiovascular community (including the national and continental cardiology scientific societies and foundations), representing the scientific, medical and professional communities, as well as patients and charitable organisations.
WHF works at the international and national levels through our own activities and those of our 200 plus members across 100 countries. WHF is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in official relations with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and a member of the NCD Alliance.”
