British Society of Echocardiography gives official endorsement to Heart Valve Voice
British Society of Echocardiography supports Heart Valve Voice’s aim to tackle the under-diagnosis, under-referral and under-treatment of heart valve disease in the UK.
Heart Valve Voice, the UK’s first heart valve disease charity, is to be represented at BSE’s annual conference in Birmingham.
The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) has announced its official endorsement of Heart Valve Voice, the UK’s only heart valve disease charity. BSE supports Heart Valve Voice’s primary aim to tackle the under-diagnosis, under-referral and under-treatment of heart valve disease in the UK, which in turn complements BSE’s vision to make high quality echocardiography widely available in primary and secondary care.
As part of the endorsement, BSE representatives are to attend Heart Valve Voice’s upcoming steering committee meeting, and Heart Valve Voice is to be represented at this year’s BSE annual conference in Birmingham.
Cardiac surgeon and Heart Valve Voice chairman, Ben Bridgewater, said “Achieving BSE endorsement is acknowledgement of the wonderful work that Heart Valve Voice is undertaking to raise awareness and understanding of heart valve disease and will help us achieve even greater outcomes in the future. Everyone at the charity is delighted with the news, and I would like to personally thank BSE for their support and their confidence in us.”
BSE President, Dr Rick Steeds commented: “We are delighted to endorse Heart Valve Voice whose aims are consistent with those of the BSE. We look forward to working together to ensure early and accurate diagnosis of valvular heart disease is widely available, so as to optimise the care provided to these patients.”
