Our Women’s Clinical Advisory Group is dedicated to addressing the significant gender disparities in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of heart valve disease, particularly aortic stenosis. Despite cardiovascular disease being the leading cause of death among women in the UK, standard approaches often overlook the unique physiological and cultural differences in women, leading to delayed or inaccurate diagnoses. Our Women’s Clinical Advisory Group is committed to developing gender-specific pathways and advocating for systemic changes in healthcare to ensure timely and accurate treatment for women.
