Andrew is a retired prolific professional photographer and he insisted that I photographed him immediately post op. Because I'm a doctor and I explained Andrew's insistence, the nurses allowed me to take some photographs. Andrew has not only retained his lust for life he now sees every day as a bonus - since the beginning of 2017 when we visited the Antarctic he's been determined to honour the new lease of life he's been given and he's lost two stones in weight and become fitter allowing him to walk more and plan further adventures. His general change in lifestyle has been profound and he continues to pour praise on the surgeons and cardiologists who saved his life.
