Photography is a powerful medium that I know is capable of capturing the positive and beautiful moments life has to offer. I would like to take part in this project to use my photographic skills to create a visual documentation of these moments through the eyes of a heart valve disease patient. By doing so, I believe this could be an incredible way to raise awareness of the disease that has little acknowledgment by the general public, as well as a creative way to educate and inform people of the symptoms and possible preventions. If I were to be chosen to work with a patient in capturing the most precious moments of their life, I would take the project on with a creative but soft approach in order to capture genuine moments within their every day. I would like to be considered for the next stage of the competition as I believe I can create a body of work that speaks for the patient’s appreciation and warmth towards the simple but beautiful moments in their life.
