Day Two Part One After yesterday I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of patients voice in Heart Valve Voice and heart valve disease more broadly. I love my role as a patient advocate, I take it seriously and yet last night I had to pinch myself sat in the beautiful Portuguese evening as I thought you don’t often get the opportunity to give back and in such wonderful places!

Day One- Afternoon ​Having spoken about all the advancements in treatment options I now wanted to know what barriers were stopping patients accessing these treatments.

Day One- Morning The first part of my day at EACTs was spent discussing the advancements in Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS). I managed to speak to Chris Young, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at St. Thomas' Hospital about innovative treatments and the advancement in MIS.

Wil is writing a fortnightly blog and discussing a range of topics over the coming months. In this addition, he's talking about the role of Heart Valve Voice in the cardiovascular landscape, so much of the discussion is about awareness. For us, there are three important parts to this: education, reach and collaboration. .

Today we release our celebration video where we thank all the advocates, clinicians and people who took the time to talk to, and listen to, us over the past week. We have had so much fun over the past days across the UK and want to celebrate our activities with you all. We took the carnival of our Street Doctors to London, Edinburgh and Belfast and got an incredible response from them. We can’t wait to unleash them on Cardiff next week.
