This week at PCR London Valve, Heart Valve Voice held a Patient Engagement Session with our Patient Advocates to discuss Global Heart Hub's Shared Decision-Making Roadmap. The session looked a the roadmap from a UK perspective, and our advocates explained their experience of shared decision-making and looked at ways we can use the roadmap to improve patient experience in the UK.

Global Heart Hub (GHH) has partnered with The Health Policy Partnership (HPP) to develop a roadmap to support the implementation of shared decision-making in heart valve disease (HVD). Published to coincide with PCR London Valves 2023, the roadmap has been created to equip patient organisations, patient advocates and healthcare professionals across the world with the knowledge and guidance needed to make shared decision-making a reality in HVD care.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Global Heart Hub Unite Summit in Barcelona. The Summit brought together patient organisations, patient advocates, clinicians, industry representatives and key opinion leaders from across the cardiovascular space - uniting to share ideas and strategies to deliver early detection and timely diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.

Last week, Heart Valve Voice held an Evidence Roundtable on HMS Belfast featuring patients, clinicians, industry representatives and key opinion leaders from the health and patient advocacy space. We were asked to do this by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Heart Valve Disease, who wanted to understand the current challenges in the patient pathway, as well as the ideas and innovations that can unlock those barriers.

This week, Heart Valve Voice hosted a Roundtable on the HMS Belfast to discuss how clinicians, patients and industry professionals can improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of heart valve disease.

Last Friday, the Your Heart Matters bus made its final call in Leeds. Over the past two years, the bus has visited cities and towns across the UK, promoting awareness of the red-flag symptoms of heart valve disease and the importance of stethoscope checks for over 65s.
