Heart Valve Voice is sad to announce the passing of our fantastic Patient Advocate, Sue Jardine.
Sue was treated for heart valve disease in 2013, and after her life-saving treatment, she decided to give back and became a celebrated advocate of Heart Valve Voice.
Sue spoke about her experience at the first ever Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day, an event that has gone on to be a global event marked by hundreds of charities from Japan to Brazil. Sue was also a founding member of our National Patient Group and contributed a huge amount of her experience, supporting many patients and trying to improve the treatment for future valve disease patients.
Sue also won our first-ever National Photography Competition, which celebrated life after treatment of heart valve disease. She showcased her winning photos at an event in Parliament, where she spoke of the wonderful life she was able to live thanks to heart TAVI.

Sue was determined to support others, and nothing was ever too much for her. She was kind, generous with her time, and, most of all, just a pleasure to be around. Everyone at Heart Valve Voice sends their love and support to her family at this time.”
Sue’s life was celebrated by her family and friends on Monday at a service by Revd Kelly Parsons at St Mary’s Church, West Malling.
Heart Valve Voice thanks Sue for everything she did for us and the many lives she changed through her advocacy work.
