Heart Valve Voice, in partnership with Everton in the Community (EitC), offered free heart valve disease check-ups for the over 60s. This service was available to Everton fans and the wider Merseyside community on the 15th May.

Trained healthcare professionals used a hand-held, painless digital stethoscope to listen to the heart to detect heart murmurs, often the first indication of a problem with the heart valves. These murmurs or heart sounds were recorded, soon to be put to music and played at fixtures and corporate events. The heart sounds will be the heartbeat of the club!

Heart Valve Voice aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment and management of heart valve disease by raising awareness of its severity and the need for timely detection. We know that heart valve disease affects around one million people over 65 years of age in the UK. If diagnosed in a timely way, most heart valve disease patients can now be treated very successfully and can resume their lives.
