Yesterday was a great day for Heart Valve Voice and for the European Heart Valve Disease Awareness Week. After the success of Street Doctor in London and Edinburgh the team couldn’t wait to get going and we were in a new city and a new country. Our third in the last 24 hours!!

On September the 22nd patients from across the UK will walk a mile to inspire others and demonstrate that you really do get your life back after treatment if it’s detected early. Brenda Walker is away in September so she decided to complete her walk a little earlier and here’s how she got on….

In September 2019, Heart Valve Voice will be participating in the European Heart Valve Disease Awareness Week. Children across the UK will be sitting down together to read Grandad’s Heart Valve Disease Story. The story is based on a true relationship between a young boy, his sister and hid grandad. The book goes through the stages of grandad’s heart valve disease through the perspective of a child.

As the second half of our photography competition is well under way, we thought it would be great to introduce you to the patients who will be the focus of our winning photographers photographic documentary. The documentaries will depict what life is like after heart valve disease treatment and will show our patients living their best life since their recovery.

This time last year, Marina had never even heard of Heart Valve Voice. Now one year on she is a valued member of our Patient Action Group, she’s represented patients in a Medical Technology Group briefing with Professor Huon Gray, NHS National Clinical Director for Heart Disease, she has climbed to the top of St Paul’s Cathedral and is has now signed up as a member of our Heart Valve Voice Cycle Team!
