Keith is a member of The British Cardiac Patients Association. Keith also has a background of patients representation in a number of organisations including ambulance trusts, community health councils, patient forums and hospitals.
The British Cardiac Patients Association was formed as a patient support group in 1982 and Keith joined the Association in 1985. Having been invited in 1986 to become a trustee, he became Vice-Chairman in 1989 and was then appointed Chairman in 1990.
In its earlier years the Association grew rapidly, forming patient support groups around the country. Since that time Keith has worked to develop the Association from focusing almost totally on a direct interface with patients in a member based organisation, to a much wider role as an information source to patients and carers.
A further important role for Keith is as a patient’s advocate, speaking for and representing the interest of patients wherever and whenever possible. This representation covers a range of consultations and advisory groups including the work being started today.
Keith has a background of patients representation in a number of organisations including ambulance trusts, community health councils, patient forums and hospitals. He is currently a governor of Papworth NHS Foundation Trust.« Return to Trustee Board
