Over the coming months, Heart Valve Voice is working with Silversurfers to raise awareness of heart valve disease and our work among their members.

Silversurfers is an informative lifestyle site and social network for everyone over 50. They provide a trusted and friendly site full of news and features, including topics such as travel, health and culture. So far we have had six articles published on the site, with many more to come between now and Christmas 2016. Heart Valve Voice are even featured in their regular newsletter!

Sally Lock, Founder & Creative Director of Silversurfers, said she is pleased to be working with Heart Valve Voice. “The condition could potentially affect our members or their loved ones, and it is crucial to be aware of the symptoms that are often overlooked as signs of ageing.”

Chris Young, Chairman of Heart Valve Voice, is thrilled to be working with Silversurfers. “It is a wonderful way to disseminate our message to an age-appropriate audience. There will be a series of articles that feature staff from St. Thomas’, London and Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, to give readers an insight into the running of a cardiac unit.”

Silversurfers have a strong Facebook following and interaction of members enjoying humour, articles and friendship. Check it out here. The over 50s have a wealth of experience gained from working, hobbies, interests and living! They encourage members to assist others with help and information on their social networks and forums and actively join in the discussions.

The more we listen, the more lives we save!
